Delicious Homemade Donuts with Nutella Filling


  • 150 ml warm milk
  • 35 grams sugar
  • 5 grams instant yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 325 grams bread flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 15 grams butter


  • Caster sugar
  • Nutella (for filling)


  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • Add the egg and cooking oil to the yeast mixture.
    • Gradually add the bread flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the Dough:
    • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
    • Incorporate the butter into the dough, kneading until fully absorbed and the dough is elastic.
  4. First Rise:
    • Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the Donuts:
    • Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into donut shapes.
    • Let the donuts rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  6. Fry the Donuts:
    • Heat oil in a pan and fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides. Drain excess oil on paper towels.
  7. Finish the Donuts:
    • Roll warm donuts in caster sugar or fill with Nutella using a piping bag.
